Martye Kendrick focuses her practice on real estate matters and serves as bond counsel and special tax counsel for her clients. Martye advises municipal utility districts and other water districts, water supply corporations, public utilities, school districts, and municipalities.

Martye serves her clients on a wide-array of issues including issuance of tax-exempt bonds, construction law, real property matters, open meetings and public information law, contracts, and other specialties. Martye has extensive experience serving as general counsel to school districts and municipalities with regard to managing real estate and development projects, right-of-way disputes, easements, acquisition and disposition, land use, annexation, condemnation, and eminent domain.

Martye has successfully helped clients navigate complex real estate issues. Public entities trust her extensive knowledge in real estate and public finance. Since 2013, Martye has served on the City of Houston Water Adjustment Board. Additionally, Martye serves on the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority Board.

Martye also serves the Firm’s Public Finance Group. She received her Master of Laws in Taxation, which allows her to serve as special tax counsel, in addition to serving as bond counsel in the issuance of tax-exempt bonds for cities, higher education, hospital districts, municipal utility districts, water districts, school districts, and charter schools.
